I have read a number of reviews on the Intel BOXD975XBXLKR Bad Axe mobo. They say the board comes with 4 USB ports and will accept or can be expanded to 8. This would be very useful to me as I have lots of peripherals. My 7 port Belkin hub is full +. Anyone know how this expansion deal works?

with this

The d975xbx2 has one of those in the box with it (only 2 USBs for that one though) so that might work. Also if you have any case USB slots that 4 slot thing wont work (as they need one of the connections your case uses.

With USB, you can get 4 port splitters and keep plugging them into each other, I think up to a total of 127 devices. If you've got splitters with external power supply....that'll help. You won't tax the built-in USB power supply when you branch out beyond the 4 ports out back.

Thanks RJ.

Flabbergasted, I'm glad you posted that. I was not able to find the other thing on Newegg, but I did see a lot of the card type ones. Seem reasonably priced too.

you don´t need a pci device. the one I showed you should have come with the mobo. And if you don't have one, buy it. It's cheaper and your mobo has two more usb pins inside.
