How to get my HDD and SSD working right

Yesterday I made my new pc build and figure I'd use a SSD to save on load times after I installed the Os onto the SSD I tried to hook up my old 1TB HDD and use it for storage so after installation and reformatting the HDD I was wondering there was a way to get the files i download to directly download to my D: (HDD) instead of my new C: drive (SSD)...also if anyone can tell me how i can get the HDD to show me folders so it can be more organized that be great.

SSD: Crucial M4 64GB
HDD: Western Digital Caviar 1TB
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB
PSU: Thermaltake 1000 watts
DVD-rom: Lite-on, and Sony
