How to get password for wifi hotspot

i downloaded portable hotspot to my LG phone and trying to connect to the internet on my ipad. it finds the wifi connection from my phone however asking for a password...but it never ask for one when i set it up? can someone please help. thanks, JH

The wi-fi connection it has found is evidently a secured network which needs a wireless key or password. Only the owner of that network can give you that.

Read the manual to the phone and/or software you used, should have the info you need.
