So I want to use a dvi cable to connect my monitor to my pc, but that means the speakers on my monitor won't work. I've heard that hdmi cables carry sound but they don't have a locking mechanism, so they sometimes get loose and lose connection if they're moved too much. I just want to know if there's any other way to get sound from my monitor while using a dvi cable?

Solution
On my monitor (AOC e2752Vh) I can take a 3.5mm audio cable with male ends and connect it from my monitor to my computer and I get sound no matter what video cable I use. HDMI shouldn't come loose, and if you're moving your monitor, you should always turn off the monitor and disconnect all video and power cables before moving the monitor.

The HDMI connection is actually very sturdy, unless the connection feels loose in your situation, then HDMI will be much simpler. If your monitor has an input audio jack, you can connect the output audio on your computer to the input audio jack into your monitor.

It depends on your monitor. Some have a 1/8 in stereo sound input jack that could work.
Really, you probably just want to stick with HDMI. No, it doesn't latch, but it's not like it will just fall out. If it ever does fall out, you can just plug it back in.
