How to get VG245H to 75Hz and how to use Freesync

So I have 2 questions about the VG245H monitor that I have bought:

1: The monitor advertises a 75Hz refresh rate, but whenever I go into the monitors settings, it says 60Hz. How do I get it to 75? I definitely have a pc that should easily support 75hz at 1080p.

2: I have an MSI RX480 gpu, and the monitor advertises Freesync compatibility. However, when I go into the software that came with the gpu drivers and I go into the monitor settings, it says "freesync not supported". How do I get them to use freesync together?

Thanks!

I just figured out how to get 75hz. On your desktop right click and select display settings. scroll down and select advanced display settings than display adapter properties. Moniter tab and select 75 hz refresh rate. Good Luck

Access settings from the moniter. select image and scroll all the way down until you see freesync. Enable it. I can't seem to figure out how to get 75 hz on mine. In device manager it shows as generic pnp moniter and not VG245H

Says it's a Generic Pnp monitor for me and won't let me select anything higher than 60 Hz.

Same here... bump for more help. I even re-installed GPU drivers, still nothing higher than 75 hz as an option.

50 bucks later, I solved my problem, now I have a list with more options, including the 75Hz option. I replaced the cheap HDMI cable, for a good one (from Sony), and now its everything working just fine! At the office, I have a coworker with the same problem but with a 144Hz monitor. We tested with my Sony HDMI cable and we solved his problem aswell.

I'm using the HDMI cable that came with the monitor.

Ohhh I see.. I forgot to tell you, my monitor (Asus VG245H) was second handed and the guy kept the HDMI cable.
Well, at least, the "good" cable worked for me.. :S

Apparently, from my own experience and 'testing,' this was just an error in Windows 7. I didn't try it in Windows 8 or 8.1 or any server OS's (why you would be using this monitor for a server is beyond me, but alright), but after trying it on both Windows 7 and Windows 10, my Windows 7 PC was the only one do have this error. I am not entirely sure whether or not this is actually due to the operating system, cable, or hardware, but this is from my experience.

Windows 7 PC:
Dell XPS 8300
i7-2600
8 GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6450

Windows 10 PC:
i7-7700K
16 GB RAM
GTX 1070 FTW
