How to get Windows 8 to recognize old IDE external drive

I bought an external case (Sabrent) to run my old IDE drive externally with USB. It shows up under device manager, but no drive letter is assigned to read the data. Any recommendations?

Since its appearing in device manager windows had detected it! Go to disk manager and manually mount the drive and it should appear in my computer after doing so. You may have to assign it a letter.
