With what scissors? Carpet cutters to risky?

Nose the bottom blade of some scissors under the ziptie, so the scissors are parallel to the wires. Grab the wires/cables with your other hand and bend them away so that on top, you just have scissors/ziptie/air and there's nothing else the scissors could cut. That's the way that's worked for me, ever since I accidentally cut through a tiny fan wire on my first build and stupidly tried to reattach it, and nearly started a fire.

What is the best method to make sure you dont cut the wires

I use a small pair of wire cutters that has about a 1cm size head. Even when they are tied on super snug, i can still get in there and just use the tip to snip them.

Wire cutters working a treat. These zipties were on so small it was impossible to use scissors at all. Thanks for the help
