How to Go into your BIOS and change the device boot order to HDD first

My HP Pavilion p7-1020 has trouble booting up...I tried booting up with System Mechanic Pro and the last line on the screen is "Enter the full shell command line:"

Your response to a similar problem was "Go into your BIOS and change the device boot order to HDD first..."

How do you do that?

Right after you start your PC try ESC or F10 to get into BIOS. Then into boot or advanced bios settings tab you should find the boot order and for the first device you should select the HDD with the windows partition.
