How to handle unanswered questions?

I've been exchanging messages on a daily basis with a senior forum member who has been walking me through a complex troubleshooting procedure. But then five days ago my last post to the thread went unanswered.

I can see that this person is very busy on the forums, so I'm guessing that my last questions just got lost lost among all the questions that he fields every day.

Would it be inappropriate for me to post a followup to my last post to call attention to it? Or should I just patiently wait for for a reply?

Bumping threads is not allowed. If you have additional pertinent information to post, like answering or posing additional questions, then that is allowable. What specific thread are you referring to?
