How to hook Xbox 360 to a ViewSonic monitor.

Hello,
ViewSonic has DVI imput and Xbox 360 has HDMI output. Do I need a converter and will this cover the sound? Meaning do I need additional cable for sound?

dvi doesn't have sound, so you'll need to get a converter that splits HDMI to DVI and audio

Yes you need converter that converts HDMI to DVI audio to Enable sound in it. There are converter available which lets you to convert HDMI to DVI which you can easily find in local Electronic or General stores.

Your other option is just to use a standard DVI to HDMI cable and the optical output on the back of your Xbox (assuming whatever source you are using for sound allows for an optical input).
