[SOLVED] How to i fix my retro-pie joysticks?

I purchased a two player joystick set for my raspberry pi. Everything worked great a first but now when i press up or down on either joystick all the button leds turn off and sometimes even crashes my raspberry pi. Tried connecting it to my PC and i have the same issue except my PC does not crash when doing this. How do i fix?

It would seem that Vcc is being shorted to ground.

Do your USB ports still work?

Can you isolate it to one controller or the other? (But on both controllers?) Is a cable (button/stick to PCB) plugged in backwards?

You could get a USB tester to measure current when the button is pressed

Worst case, the controller on the PCB got fried somehow

I unplugged all the wires from the USB encoder and carefully made sure everything was connected properly. Now it appears to be working fine. Thanks!
