Hello,
I just ordered the ASROCK X670E TAICHI WIFI mainboard, together with two ADATA LEGEND 970 2TB SSD's and two KINGSTON FURY RENEGADE 2 TB SSD's
The ssd's will be installed as show in the screenshot below
What i cant figure out is how do i select the SSD connected to the "Blazing M.2 Socket" (PCIe Gen5 x4) to be used for the windows 11 installation
Obviously i want to use the fastest SSD and since i have two identical ones, the ADATA LEGEND 970 2TB SSD's I need to find a way to select the one who is inside the "Blazing M.2 Socket"
Anyone can explain me how i can solve this?

Welcome to the forums.

You should install Windows while ONLY 1 disk is installed.

Unplug/remove the other one, temporarily, while installing Windows. When done, shutdown and add the 2nd drive. If you don't, you may have issues later on with the boot partition being placed on the 2nd drive, while Windows is placed on the 1st drive. Then you decide to remove the 2nd drive, and Windows no longer boots.

This obviously takes care of the issue of figuring out which one is which also.

Do it the right way, even if it's a pain. Remove 1, install, add 2nd one.

Of if they are new, simply don't add the 2nd drive until Windows is installed.

Hi
thanks for the reply
Would it be enough to remove the second ADATA LEGEND 970 2TB SSD? and leave the two kingston SSD's?
The other two ssd's require to remove the graphic card (RTX 4090) which is super complicated since i cant push on the release lever from both sides, brokehe release lever a while ago on another computer
The PC comes completelly installed and i'm not really a hardware guy - so to speak

This might work: https://www.techoverwrite.com/windo.../#check-the-order-of-your-drives-in-your-bios

See page 46 of your BIOS's manual: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/Software/AMD X670/Software_BIOS Setup Guide_English.pdf

The mainboard manual lists the Blazing port as M2_1 (page 4), so it theoretically should be the first drive Windows shows in the install to list: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/X670E Taichi.pdf

And if that doesn't work, just reinstall as per: https://www.techoverwrite.com/windo...nstall_Windows_And_Check_With_CrystalDiskInfo

No idea about ensuring the EFI boot partition is installed on the same drives as the OS if you leave the drives attached during install, other than checking after the fact and reinstalling fresh if needed.
