This is going to be my first time replacing a gpu mosfit, but how do i know which mosfet is the faulty one, and one is not while using the multimeter?
By the way, my gtx 1050 has empty slot of mosfet so can i just put the new mosfet on to that empty slot mosfet and not bother removing the faulty one, will that work?

Not all pcb design is actually use the empty slot, it might that it's just a same design pcb but for different model, so that the empty slot is not aligned to anything. Will it work? i would say it's a hit and miss. It's better to remove the faulty mosfet and replace them at the same exact slot.

How many mosfets are there?

If there are 3 or more.....

One brute force way to find it is....set a multimeter to "ohms"....and measure terminal to terminal and record the values.

If one is different than the rest....it's probably the problem one.
ok so i have checked all the mosfet and it seems like theres no shorted mosfets. But it sometimes post sometimes dont. So is the problem the mosfet driver?
Should i go and replace the mosfet driver?
And im not sure if this is the mosfet driver
This is my gtx 650 ti

And i think the mosfet driver is this

the chip is labled GH15B
Is this the mosfet driver?
And should i replace it?
