How To Identify Windows 10 Build And Version



Ever since its release, Windows 10 has received many accolades from people all over the world. The user interface and the security feature has developed to a great extent from the previous version. You might want to know your Windows 10 operating system build and version to download the apt software or downloads. Winver command would be a great option. With winver, you can also know information regarding the service packs that are running. Here is how you identify the Windows 10 build and version.

Step 1
Click on ‘search bar ’ icon

Click the ‘search bar’ icon that is located on the bottom left corner of the task bar, just next to the windows icon.



Step 2
Type ‘winver’

Once you press the Windows icon, type the text ‘Winver’ in the search option as shown in the below figure. Winver is the command that is used to display the Windows version, build number and also the service packs that are installed.



Step 3
Find ‘Version and Build’ details

As shown below, you will find the ‘Version and Build’ information of your Windows 10 system, mostly on the second line. Here the version of Windows 10 is 1703. Along with this information, you can also read the Microsoft Software License to know more information about your Windows 10 system.



Step 4
Click ‘OK’ option

After finding the version and build information of your Windows 10 system, click the ‘OK’ button as shown below. The winver window will be then closed.



You can thus easily identify the Windows 10 build and version information through a simple Winver command. In addition, you can also read the Microsoft Software License terms
