If you use an Android phone and a Windows 10 computer, it is quite straightforward to import your images from your phone to your desktop. Thanks to the inclusion of the Phone Companion app in Windows 10, it is just a few clicks and two minutes work to get the two working together in harmony. If you would like to import Android photos into Windows 10, here’s how.
Import Android photos into Windows 10
There are two ways to import images from Android.
1. Plug your Android phone into your computer using a USB cable.
2. Ensure the phone is in MTP transfer mode and not charging mode.
3. Type or paste ‘phone’ into the Search Windows box.
4. Select Phone Companion and open the app.
5. Select Android within the app window.
6. Select the ‘Show’ text link at the very bottom of the next screen.
7. Select ‘Import photos and videos from the Photos app’ in the gray box that appears.
8. The Photos app should open, confirm import and allow the process to finish.
Your photos should now all be on your computer. Navigate to your Pictures folder to browse or use the Photos app.
You can also import using Windows Explorer.
1. Plug your Android phone into your computer using a USB cable.
2. Ensure the phone is in MTP transfer mode and not charging mode.
3. Right click your phone in the device listing in Explorer.
4. Select ‘Import pictures and videos’.
The same process of import will take place and your images will end up in the same Pictures folder.
