is there a certain part that i need to upgrade in my rig to lessen the sudden framerate drop in crowded areas? especially turning shadows on?

i run 3404x1920 and heres my rig atm:

Specs:
-Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
-2x 7950 Sapphire OC Crossfire mode, Clocks @ 957 Core/ 1292 Memory
-AMD FX-8350 8-Core "Piledriver" CPU overclocked @ 5ghz
-CoolerMaster Seidon 120xl Liquid Cpu Cooler
-ASUS TUF Sabertooth 990fx rev 2.0 GEN3 Motherboard
-2x Seagate 2 TB HDD
-2x corsair vengance memory @ 8gb 1600mhz
-OCZ 125gb SSD Boot Drive
-3x AOC 27" inch HD monitors (DE-BEZLED/Case removed)
-Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate Keyboard
-Razer TRON mouse
-Razer Orochi Headset
-KINGWIN LZG 1300w 80+ gold Power supply
-TT Esports Challenger Ultimate Keyboard
-Razer TRON Mouse

thanks in advance.

It's probably your CPU. From benchmarks, it's only a little faster than my i3, and I get lots of framerate drops in crowded or large open areas, especially in MMOs. Remember that draw-distance is entirely dependent on the CPU, and even overclocked i5s and i7s drop to 40fps or lower in some newer games, no matter what graphics config you have.

The main problem with things like MMOs is that in order for the game to lag less, the packages of information that travel from game client to server and then back have to be small.
This means more compression made in the CPU. The more objects active on the server-client, the more operations your CPU has to do at the same time (and most games use only 2 cores, since are not coded properly).

One trick that sometimes works well is to alt tab out of the game and alt tab in back.
This should reset the transmision and drop all information that is currently in line for your CPU, restarting it from point 0. (this is usually the CPU not keeping up so the GPU has to wait for CPU input before it can process the information, however, after alt tabbing, the CPU-GPU connection is reset... sort of).

The last thing i can think of, is getting into your config files and setting a diferent core for the game to run on ( this is more advanced stuff). Normally core 2 and 3.

That way core 0-1 goes to System and system related applications while the other cores can concentrate on the game.

Btw you have all 8 core running at 5 ghz?

i guess it's about poor optimization. i remember doing a benchmark test of hitman absolution in dx11 mode, where that chinatown scene is and i get about 40-65 fps. and yes, i have all cores @ 5 ghz.

i cannot say for sure that an 8350 is only a tad bit faster than an i3 considering the benchmarks tek syndicate did.

-would it help if i add another 7950 though?

Hitman absolution is a single player game(right?).
Thats something different. It can preload onto your ram most of the things the CPU will have to manage. This means you are not getting sudden bursts of calcualtions into the CPU at the same time (when for example 20 ppl in an MMO are moving).

MMo can be compared in raw terms to streaming. And for that you need a very powerfull CPU if you are running things at max settings.

Unfortunatelly the AMD architecture is worse than Intels on those kind of things (taking care fast of bursts of data to calculate).
