How to improve laptop cooling system?

My laptop's cooling system has become inefficient as temps increase almost instantaneously while playing games such as Rainbow Six Siege, GTA V, Payday 2 etc, thereby forcing the GPU to throttle to cool down. I've tried using cooling fans, which only increases the time needed to reach those temps by a very small margin. I need to know whether there is a solution where I can have those temps stay low for a long time.

Try cleaning out your heatsinks and fans with compressed air. That is usually the culprit of rising temps over time. And if possible try repasting your GPU and CPU.
