How to increase gpu usage?

My gpu usage while playing BF3 is always around 30% and it's not a solid flowing 30% it goes down.. while playing minecraft its at 0-3% max. Bf3 cpu usage= 80% with google running, Minecraft = 40-50% cpu usage. Cpu = Amd Phenom 9600, gpu = asus 7770 1gb power supply = 650 watt any way I can increase gpu usage>

GPU usage increases with the quality settings you enable, or changing your resolution too, the more resolution, and the more quality setting enabled the usage will increase.

BF3 on high, 1280,1080 still low gpu usage. Minecraft i get VERY BAD fps, around 15 with all low settings at a server spawn, max is like 60 while looking at sky :/

But does your fps also go down in BF3? About Minecraft I don't know, I don't own it

It's always at 13-32 fps on low depending were I am, high-ultra it only drops by 3 fps no more then that idk :/ help me pls! <3

Have you checked that the screen/monitor is connected to the dedicated video card, not to the integrated video card output from the motherboard?

Minecraft is more CPU intensive then GPU intensive, BF3 would be a better test of your GPU. As to why you aren't getting the FPS you want, I'm not too sure. With Minecraft make sure you're dedicating 2GB+ of RAM through java parameters and you're running updated java.

Yup I did all that and Java is fully updated.

Have you tried reseating your video card on the motherboard? and reinstall the drivers?

My cpu does not have intergrated video, when I plug it into the motherboard it's all black, but when I plug it into the gpu I see windows normally no black screen.
