Hi Folks,

Anyone know of a good program to increase the text size in games and even applications? I've maximized the font size in the windows 10 display settings but that only effects the OS, not games and even program overlays like fraps or EVGA precision X. Anyone know how to make these larger? Especially precision X in the overlay settings I've got it set to "large", well maybe large if your 2cm away from it looking through a magnifying glass but otherwise no way could that be described as large! Even the "large" text from precision X, on my logitech G19s keyboards screen I have to raise the keyboard up to my chest to be able to read it!

Even games, currently playing Mirrors Edge Catalyst and am having to walk up to the TV every 2 minutes to read what's on the screen. I guess it does not help that I'm running things in 4K, but i cant believe windows still has not fixed the 4K scaling issues everyone screamed bloody murder about ever since 4K became a thing all those years ago.
One step forward, 17 steps back...........
Thanks for your assistance!

Nothing universal. Everything renders a little differently. Browsers won't match Windows scaling generally. Games certainly won't as they all use different rendering engines.

MS has screwed up scaling always. If you wanted higher resolution back in the day you had smaller icons and text. Win 95 and 98 and XP were a little better, you could at least change font sizes and border sizes. Windows 7 had a few less features. Steps backward is correct, the interface for making very specific changes to Windows is basically gone, replaced with friendly menus that don't offer the options you want. And they still haven't got 4K scaling working properly. For reasons unknown, there isn't a 200% scaling option, which would work perfectly and make a 4K screen look like a 1080 sized screen.

Yep, the higher resolution you go on the same sized screens the smaller the text, icons, etc... Dot pitch is big here, that's why I never suggest anyone get a 4k laptop, silly to have that resolution on a 15 or even a 17" screen.

4k devices sure are good at marketing themselves though, great sounding tech "4k". Easy to say, sounds cool, sells new TVs. Really better than 1080 for anything under 42, 48 inches? Nah.

Thanks for the advice guys. Is there at least a option in Fraps to make the counter bigger? I swear years ago you use to be able to adjust the size but I can't find anything.

Frustrating though some games scale really well so it's not a issue. Doom scaled perfectly so I could read the text so easily even the subtitles were ledgeable. But mirrors edge catalyst has to be the worst I've swent even walking up to the screen it's still so small.

Shame LG is the only one pushing OLED. I bought this TV 2 years ago and really wanted to go OLED but athe the time they were 8k so I got this instead.
And now find out sonys not releasing the HDR update for my TV x9000b only c onwards. Grrrrrrr.

Gotta love how this industry pushes out technology then shoots it in the arm like this! It's the vita all over again...........
