How to install a blue ray player in a pc

hi is there anything i need to know to install a blueray player
in my pc does it connect sata plug in or do i need a video card also

Really simple tbh
SATA, no need for video card, the video card will just display what the bluray player is reading off the disk

Basically, just that a video card could offload the decoding task from the CPU, which an integrated solution doesn't do.

actually, integrated solutions will get the work dumped on them, even intel's lackluster IGP

Yeah but what components will the IGP use, oh yeah the mobo CPU, and Mobo RAM.

actually the IGP will not use the cpu for the decoding, unless it is overwhelmed which anything, except maybe the intel IGP, can handle

as for ram, depends on the motherboard, my gaming computer has the 790Gx with sideport memory which is dedicated to the IGP

and even using the system memory (usually 512MB or lower), it can decode BD just fine, as i have the 785G chipset (HD4200) in my HTPC and it works just fine (also paired with athlon II X2 240)

true, now it depends on what IGP you have, I was going to to upgrade my little brother's slimline to a 785, but read somewhere that those boards are a b***h to take off and I thought why not instead just get a graphics card. So now we have a 2400.
