[SOLVED] How to install an os with a external hard drive

Hello I was wondering how to install an OS using an external hard drive as the CD install software starts here because i cant burn Cd's from my PC

As in you have an .iso image on an external hard drive?

You use the retail DVD to install OS X. No copied DVDs, no external hard disks.

If it's not OS X then you're in the wrong forum.
