How to install motherboard stand offs?

I have the coolermaster haf 912 and I know where the stand offs go but I don't know HOW to put them in. I'm sure a normal screw driver won't work so I tried screwing them in. It worked but I can unscrew them easily. Is that ok. Also the case came with two stand offs per installed they look differant then the ones that came in the Baggie but are the same color, I hope that's fine.

Somewhere in a bag in the mobo box, there should be a little round thing, with a hex shape inside and knurled outside. IOW, a small nut driver.

That is basically a hex driver for the standoffs. Screw them in by hand (in the right places), and use that thing to tighten them a little.

EDIT: Or in the bag of stuff that came with the case.

I checked for it only thing that's comes close to what you described are these four long about 1 inch black pipes with a empty hole in the center going all the way through,

If not hand tight is fine. We did them hand tight for years with nothing bad happening.

You should be able to screw them in hand tight. There should be a chart on the motherboard itself. It should say ATX and a couple letters. Just look for the holes with the corresponding letters and screw them in. I have seen black ones too.

This is what the one that came with my stuff looks like. Can't remember if it was the case (Antec One), or mobo (Gigabyte)

About 0.25" dia.

hmmm....Then it is for something else

As regards the standoffs...screw them in hand tight. It will be fine.
If you are still worried about them coming loose, and don't have a suitable nut driver....gently use a pair of pliers to tighten them just a little.
But you can get a suitable nut driver set for maybe $4.

I got one of the first pictures with my HAF XM. But as above, we hand tightened them for decades. No worries about it. (My current build in my Antec 300 is hand tightened.)
