How To Install MSI B150 Mortar bios update

This is my first time installing bios update so im not sure what to do.
When I go to download the bios update I just get a text file and C80 file.

What does it say in text file?

Find your manual and go to page 56 and it shows you the process of using that file to flash bios

You can use live update 5 which is a windows utility to update the BIOS. It may not be the smartest way but its available on the MSI site for your motherboard in utilities. I would only use this if flashing it manually doesn't work for some reason.

Is it normal for it to be 16mb size?

I just downloaded it and that is size I get unzipped. The size shown on the MSI site is smaller but they are showing the zipped file size, which is deceptive.

Only do it if it is to fix problems or add features you will use, BIOS updates can break motherboards if they go wrong, so I understand the worry. I am kind of lucky that there aren't likely to be new BIOS for my motherboard so I can just ignore it.

I did it because the rear audio ports don't work but it is the same situation, I might need to do a rma of the motherboard

Did you get latest realtek drivers? they seem to be only 4 days old on the site.

do the sound devices show in device manager? or in the sound control panel?

I downloaded the drivers a few hours ago but it was still the same.
