Question How to install new os

Hi,
I've recently acquired an old 2008 mac pro that came with no hdd and want to get mac os onto it but have no idea how. I don't have access to any other mac machines so i would have to make the bootable drive through windows. I've tried some methods online with little success. Any help in solving this would be appreciated.

I would use MacOS internet recovery once you get a drive installed in that Mac.

As far as I've found out in the last week's internet recovery needs an OS disk. The recovery partition is part of the Mac os install.
So without a working Mac os drive you have a problem. Also in contrast to windows it's hard to get your hands on MacOS for free.

That option is only available on newer macs.
