Noob question. Looking to build a system and really want the nzxt aer fgb fans with the hue +.
I would like 5 which i knw is enough for one controller. My question is i knw the fans are daisy chained together with regards to the leds , bt does each fan need to be plugged into the motherboard ? So i would need a mobo with 5 fan headers ?
Sorry if my question is stupid. Thank you

Yes, each AER RGB fan needs to be connected to the MoBo/ fan hub/ fan controller to power them.

You can use 4-pin Y-splitters and connect 2x AER RGB fans on single MoBo header, reducing the needed fan headers from 5x to 3x.
Y-splitter at amazon (2x in box): https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NA-SYC1-Accessory-4-pin-Y-Cables/dp/B00KG8K5CY

Oh, i have 3x AER140 RGB fans in my Skylake build and 3x AER140 RGB fans in my Haswell build as well, full specs with pics in my sig.
Note: HUE+ can sustain up to 10x AER RGB fans, 5x AER RGB fans per channel since HUE+ has 2x channels. Downside is that you can't plug any LED strips to the HUE+ if you go with two sets of 5x AER RGB fans.
