Hello, I am trying to download the SATA drivers for my computer.

I have an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 and I downloaded the .zip file. I went into the Win7, x64 folders and I was met with 3 different files.

ahcix64s.cat (security catalog)
ahcix64s.inf (setup information)
ahcix64s.sys (system file)

I'm sure I have to open the system file but it gives me the option that I have to use a program.

Here is the link to the ASUS drivers

Unless you are missing drivers in Device Manager, you don't need these. If you do have an "Other Device" or a "?" in Device manager, right click it, choose update drivers and select "Do not search - I have driver" or something close to that and then point to the .inf file in this unzipped package.

Those files are usually only need for windows install sometimes I believe, depending on things. If your computer boots, your computer obviously can find drivers. If you want to install/update your chipset drivers, get the drivers from AMD since it's an AMD chipset in there. It has the latest SATA driver for windows to use, not install on.
