How to install the wireless mouse for ASUS laptop running Window 8, 64 bit?

I just purchased a ASUS laptop, want to use wireless mouse, what is the steps to install the wireless mouse? The OS is Window 8, 64 bit, thanks.

Push the receiver into a usb port and turn on the mouse. That's it.

what is receiver for wireless mouse? I thought the wireless mouse does not have any wire to attach to the USB. Is the Logitech wireless mouse comparable to ASUS laptop?
