Could someone please walk me through how to install Universal Windows Drivers? I am on a Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC) and a lot of the new drivers come in UWD. So I download the drivers, unblock the zip file (properties, tick unblock box) and run "AsusSetup" and nothing happens. For the life of me I can't find anything online really that says how to do it either. I'm currently trying to update my ethernet driver. The readme text says this:
"The driver package in this folder is intended for use in upgrading existing Universal Windows drivers for devices based on the following controllers:
* Intel(R) PRO/1000 EB and EB1 Network Connections
* Intel(R) PRO/1000 PF Network Connections and Adapters
* Intel(R) PRO/1000 PT Network Connections and Adapters
* Intel(R) Gigabit PT Quad Port Server ExpressModule
* Network Connections based on the Intel(R) 82566 Controller
* Intel(R) PRO/1000 PB Dual Port Server Connection
* Intel(R) PRO/1000 PB Server Connection

You can install Intel's Ethernet Universal Windows Drivers using the SetupBD.exe utility.

1) Download the latest Ethernet driver package and extract it to a temporary directory.

2) Copy all the files from <temporary directory>\<device family>\Win32|Winx64\NDIS65\Universal to <temporary directory>\<device family>\<Win32|Winx64>\NDIS65\. This will replace the standard drivers with the Universal Windows Drivers.

3) Run <temporary directory>\APPS\SETUP\SETUPBD\Win32|Winx64\SetupBD.exe"

But I don't know what this SetupdBD shit is, nor do I know what/where them directories are haha. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't ever use the command line interface or powershell or whatever, though I'm just guessing that that's what I have to even do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try installing AI Suite 3 and use EZ Update to update the drivers.

From the FAQ section of motherboard - https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1012152

you shouldn't need to mess around with all that UWD stuff.

Don't update BIOS unless you need to.

Its funny instructions say "EZ Update is a utility that allows you to automatically update your motherboard's software, drivers, or BIOS." and then go one to talk about updating BIOS for rest of the page
