I have an Asus EeePC 1005HAB netbook, that of course, like most netbooks, has no CD/DVD drive. I am fine with this, as the laptop was free, and I just plan on using it for watching some movies on the go, and maybe typing documents on the airplane. (travel sometimes, and need to do some work and fun from the air 😀) I also use this laptop for Half-Life (original) and that's about it.
So, I have tried many *nix distributions, but none of them work smoothly, and none of them really are that great for software.
I would like to install Windows XP. I have an ISO file, and a flash drive. I have tried SO MANY ways to attempt to getting this to work, BUT it hasn't yet. I have literally tried Rufus, UNETBOOTIN, and some other tools like WinToFlash. I don't know if I am using those tools correctly, so please point me in the correct direction if I am not.
But, when I boot the computer, It appears to Install Correctly, and Then it reboots and Goes into that post-file transfer mode where it brags about the "XP swag" that you get. On that screen, is where stuff fails. I either get errors, or requests to select where to copy the files from.
Again, I am a complete noob to this, so I need some help in this regard.
Thanks for all the help!
