Hi there. I recently picked up an Asus z97-A Mobo and I'm having some issues installing Windows XP with the new hardware.

I'm using a Windows XP Professional x64 disc with Service Pack 2 and Intel AHCI drivers slipstreamed onto it; I had no issues installing XP on my last mobo with AHCI mode enabled and everything, although it was an x58 chipset.

Unfortunately, when the setup loads, I get a bluescreen with error 0x000000A5, "the ACPI BIOS in the system is not fully compliant with the ACPI specification"

I have the latest BIOS version, and I've tried disabling APM and legacy USB.

What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.

Yes, get the z87 if you have to use the winxp, because Z87 does support winxp. And you can go to the MB manufacturer site to double check there is the xp drivers or not. But I think they should have.
Because the Z97 chipset does not support the WinXP, there is not driver, you maybe try install the win7 then try the winxp mode, but it may still don't work on the z97 MB, but just try. Also keep in mind, since last year, the technical support for Windows XP and Windows XP Mode is no longer available, so when you use the winxp mode, and you should disconnect the Internet.

So there is absolutely no way to get it working? I was under the impression that there were people running XP on these Z97 boards when I ordered it. XP is a must-have for me; Should I return this and get a z87 based board instead?
