how to interface usb to parallel port using vb6

I've searched the web for a solution to my problem about interfacing usb to parallel printer port, since printer port is no longer available at the back of the PCs or laptops. I want to interface it for programming purposes using visual basic to lit leds. Can anybody give me a direct solution to this? Thanks in advance.

This cable creates a virtual parallel port for printing purposes but won't help OP directly access the parallel port's latches to do what he wants.

OP, am pretty sure PCI-based parallel ports are still available. Why going through USB?

Via rs-232, or USB-to-serial cable, you can turn on up to 3 LEDs. That's not enough?
