I am preparing to upgrade my wife's laptop from Vista to Windows 7. The laptop came with Microsoft Office preinstalled so I do not have any discs or activation codes. Is there a way to keep Office on the new Windows 7 OS?

Solution
Hi.

When u use the "Upgrade" mode u don't need install again Office or other programs since the installation keeps all the programs and documents.

You don't HAVE to, but it would be wise to do so.
Any time you make major changes to the os you should backup first.
But use the W7 Easy Transfer Wizard not the Vista one.

To use the W7 Easy Transfer Wizard:
Browse to the DVD drive on your computer and click migsetup.exe in the Support\Migwiz directory.
