How to know if bios is supported the processor?

From this intruction http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/processors-cpu-apu-features-upgrade,review-32814-11.html upgrading processor. I don't see in the instruction that AM3 938 is can be install Socket AM3+ motherboards. If does, I don't know if the bios is supported the processor.

I thought if socket matched that's it.
