How to know if RAM's have different timings

Hello Everybody,

This is my very first post on this website so forgive me if I'm asking it in the wrong section.

So my PC had 2 gig of DDR3 RAM when I purchased, recently I bought another 2 GIG of DDR3 RAM without focusing on the timings. it wasn't working at first when I installed both the RAM's but when increased memory voltage from 1.2v to 1.9v, PC started working with 4 GB of RAM.

As soon I installed the RAM and started working on my PC, its hanging up after sometime and I have no other way but to reset it. monitor shows colorful horizontal lines when it happens. usually happens when I'm loading more graphic stuff or play games. I researched about the problem and came to know that it could be the timing problem, so I downloaded CPUZ to check timings. not being a technical person, I Don't know if the timings vary.

So I need your opinion on this to resolve this issue. Are the timings different? Should I buy another RAM? any other solution for this problem?

What motherboard do you have?

The motherboard's manual usually specifies the supported frequencies.

And latest supported memory lists.

In the picture you posted, under supported memory lists, it says that 32 bit may only recognize less than 3 GB of RAM, so that MIGHT be a problem(I'm not very sure)

Also, one more question. In your CPU-Z list, which ram stick is the old one and which is the new one?

I mean, is the Hyundai electronics stick the one which you bought recently, or is it the Strontium stick?

Of course the Strontium one..... Check the pic for Week/Year...

Well OP, what you need to do is either get 2 of the same kind timing ones, or one single stick of 4GB or if you are aware of BIOS changes, set the timings on both the RAMs through the BIOS to 609.... not the default Auto.

I'm good at editing BIOS but which section I need to alter the settings in?
Like, for memory settings I go to the 'JumperFree Configuration' under advanced tab. My settings are below.

AI Overclocking [Auto] (options:= Manual, Auto, Overclock profile)

DRAM Frequency [Auto] (options:= Auto, 800Mhz,1067Mhz)

Memory Voltage [1.90000V]

NB Voltage [Auto] (options:= Auto, From 1.12500V to 1.51875V)

VTT Voltage [Auto] (options:= Auto, From 1.20000V to 1.59375V)

CPU Vcore [Auto] (options:= Auto, +50mv, +100mv)

AUTO PSI [Enabled] (options:= Enabled, Disabled)

How do I do that with my BIOS settings above? VTT & NB voltage I understood, how to configure other settings?

DRAM freq and timings, 2T is Command Rate or Command timing, 1.55 is DRAM voltage
