A couple of weeks ago it was fine. Out of nowhere it started to swith between connected and no connection status.

Since i bought the rog crosshair viii hero it has 2 ethernet ports. However, the 2 one that i'm using doesn't work well on multiplayer games. It works for everything else tho.

I can't test the cable since its inside the facking wall and to put another one would be a pain in the ass.

Anyway. Idk what it could be. Hope you guys can help me.

That port was working fine 2 weeks ago. So maybe something in the bios went wrong ? Or needs updating ?
It could be your internet provider...it could be the line quality coming into your home...it could be the router. There are a lot of things it could be before it even gets to your computer. Even if you have another computer (laptop for instance) you could connect the cable to and test it would be helpful.

If you can connect to the internet with the same LAN cable with either port it seems to me the ethernet port hardware is OK. Gaming is another matter and probably just as dependent on the game server as anything else.

Try one of the bandwidth test sites like https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ on each connection.

I can't test the 1 ethernet port because it doesnt connect to the internet. Only my 2 one.

Thats the issue here. How do i know if my 1 port is damaged or anything ?

Ok, so i think i got what it is. I updated a called Realtek PCIe 2.5gbE family controller.

I updated this and my 1 port works now.
