My pc is not booting anymore and i also dont know what processor do i have. So i opened the case and removed the heatsink and took out the cpu. Now how do i find out the exact model that i have. These are the hints that i have got from my mobo and cpu:-
cpu- AMD Athlon 64
(2001 AMD).
Mobo- Socket 754

with out the computer running it is tricky do you have any paper work or parts boxes? or access to the bios?

If the serial number did not work then I have no idea sorry are you sure the CPU is the problem not a faulty drive or failed PSU?

@ssimpss-

no nothing. Actually this is my dad's pc. He just used it to surf the web. But now it doesn't start, so im trying to specify its parts to estimate its price. I have my own very powerful, monstrous gaming pc with highend specs and cpu of amd fx8350

Ah right well the best thing to do then is go on something like PC part picker and get a CPU for 754 socket mobo and your in like flinn. Or if he wants get him a new PC. The CPU would be cheaper though.
