How to know which Graphic card is being used Intel hd4000 or gt635m?

Hi,

I am using a Lenovo Z580 laptop with i5 3230m and 4Gb ram/ 1Gb gt635m


I wanted to know how we can check which graphic card is being used while running games. When i am running games, the GPU activity for nvidia is none. I think my laptop is using the intel hd4000 instead of gt635m. Can any one pls suggest how to check this?

I use MSI Afterburner and check the GPU usage while ingame

The most noticeable difference would obviously be the performance, the 4000 can barely run modern games smoothly at low settings at 720p whereas the 635m would do medium settings comfortably

Can you please tell me how we can check GPU usage while ingame. Should I check the gpu usage right aftet shutting down the game aftet running for a while at max settings. I have bf2 bad company right now with me

Easy solution would be to play the game for a while, alt tab and check MSI afterburner, if the GPU usage curve is high, then the 635m is being used.

Then again if games were running slow you'd know the 4000 would be the one running it.
