How to Lan between 2 laptops (Wireless) without a router???

Hey,

I was just wondering, my friend and I want to play Star Craft with our laptops through lan, is there a way to do this with out a router? Is there a program? OR is the only way possible with a Crossover cable?

Crossover cable would be the cheapest, most reliable way. Assuming both have ethernet sockets -- otherwise add a PCMCIA or USB version for not much cash.

Ad hoc wireless connection is another possibility -- but research on how as there are some slightly counter-intuitive changes you have to make to your existing network parameters.
