My speeds are being hindered when more than one person uses the internet.

It seems the bandwidth isn't being shared equally between all of the devised connected.

I would like to be able to have my computer have most of the bandwidth available so I am not interrupted while i try to work.

THanks

Some ROUTERS have specific software for this.

Example (probably much better exists): http://www.tp-link.com/en/FAQ-557.html

There is also a setting (QoS) that prioritizes by CONTENT, so if it sees an incoming NETFLIX video it can raise the priority on that regardless of what device it is streaming to in your home.

Other:
Wi-fi adapter and settings may contribute to bandwidth allocation though I'm out of my area here.
