How to limit wi-fi speed in order to solve ping issues?

Here we have 1 Mbps connection. I want to find out the number of maximum kbps that I should assign to other wi-fi users (considering we all are 4 users), so that my ping goes no further from 100 ms while I'm playing (with no one but me using the connection, it hovers around 20 ms).
It also would be good if I could make them think the slowness they will be facing is totally normal, due to our simultaneous use of the bandwidth. I mean, if they can't even open a website page or download an image, then things will get complicated.

Place the router near you and change signal strength. Setup wifi guest account with certain limitations to mimic the admin account. belkin bios have a media streaming feature to limit wifi speed totally by plugging in the speed u want wifi capped at. belkin n600 maxes wifi speed at 25mb.s and you cant limit from there But regular ethernet ports get full speed. Its up to whatever your service provider offers to upgrade from 1mbs to fix your issues. Start by halfing the total wifi speed you have if you know that your router supports limiting wifi media streaming, i personally like getting the full speed of my internet

I'm not sure if conventional routers will let you distribute bandwidth evenly (or more so to one IP than the others).

It's worth a shot to set up QoS on your router to prioritize packets coming to and from your PC.

I went and grabbed this really cheap wireless router or you could use your own if you have one. Flash it with DD-WRT. It's a linux firmware and it is really good to use for controlling your network QoS. I grabbed a cheap 8 dollar router from the second hand store and flashed it with DD-WRT and it works like a 100 dollar one.

Check to see if your router is in the database and follow instruction to a tee
