Hello,

I have been running 2 x 4GB 1866 MHz HyperX Fury RAM for about an year now and decided to get another kit to have 16 GB RAM. Unfortunately, my system goes on infinite boot loop with 4 sticks. All the memory sticks are working fine alone as well as in pairs.

Judging from motherboard manual I think problem might be that my RAM is not getting enough power.

Which memory parameters should I change in BIOS to make the RAM work? I am not sure how much I can play with voltages. I would not mind lowering the frequency to 1600.

Solution
Start with the original 2 sticks and manuall set to 1600 9-9-9-27 1.55, save, exit, shutdown and try adding the new set. No guarantees when mixing packages of DRAM, they may simply not play together at all.
DRAM Frequency [Auto] is default setting. Try lowering the frequency to 1600.

Problems are caused by combining multiple memory kits. Such problems are not being able to operate at rated specifications or not being able to boot.

AMD FX CPUs support 1866MHz speed with one DIMM per channel.
AMD FX CPUs support 1600MHz speed with two DIMMs per channel.
Higher frequencies require an overclocked system.
The Asrock 970M Pro3 has dual channel memory architecture.

Thank you for that. I changed memory frequency to 1600 with 9-10-9-27 timings as given in HyperX manual for this frequency. Changed the DRAM voltage to 1.55 V and CPU/NB voltage to 1.1875 (up from 1.15 default). It was working at 1.175 but loading screen flickered a couple of times so I upped it. AND IT WORKS NOW! 😀
