How to make CPU frequency lower? (Sort of like underclocking)

Hi everyone!

Is there any way I can lower my cpu frequency? I have set the "Minimum processor frequency" to 0%, but my cpu speed is still at 0.77 GHz. Normally, I am typing or editing documents, and I am not a gamer.

Is it possible to set the CPU frequency to 0.5GHz? I have searched in vain for a underclocking software on Google, but no result.

I understand you can do it in the BIOS, but in the BIOS I have found no option for Overclocking/Underclocking/Undervolting/Overvolting.

Laptop Brand: Acer Aspire-571PG-524H
Operating System: Windows 8.1
CPU: Intel Core i5-4210U 1.7GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz.
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce 840M with 2GB Dedicated VRAM
RAM: 4GB DDR3
HDD: 932GB
BIOS Type/Date: Insyde Corp V. 1.04 06/05/2014
Motherboard: EA50_HB

Thanks in Advance

Enter the power options - Battery icon . Set max CPU state = 65% for instance .

i did it
i have two ready power plans :
1.max CPU state = 85%
2.max CPU state = 53%
When i play games , i switch to the second to avoid overheating . But when i use Internet - the first

Rockie, I wanted to underclock my CPU, not Overclock. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply

DubbleClick

Admirable
Why would you underclock even further than? Under about 1.5ghz even windows feels kinda... slow compared to 4ghz.
Anyway, for haswell cpu's the minimum multiplicator is 8. If you want to go below 800 mhz, you will have to slow down the blck frequency, which your notebook bios does mostlikely not support.
