The main problem is that it's a DSL combo, and they are not that flexible as standalone routers.

As I said, the manual does not say anything about "range extender". If you can pull an Ethernet cable from the main router to your room, you could try using the '834 as "access point" - disable DHCP, assign a static IP address from main router' pool, and configure WiFi as another network.
This is ten-years old DSL modem+router, and according to the manual, it does not have this capability. Because it is also a DSL, you cannot install alternative firmwares on it either. And even if you could, it would be slow (because of the age).

Why you need a "repeater" (correct term is "wireless extender")? It won't make magic with your coverage.

well thanks alot for you answer but my router version is DG834Gv5
http://www.netgear.com/support/product/DG834Gv5
so is that makes any different ? because the date of manufacture is newer..
so could you please make sure that i can't use it as "range extender" or a "repeater" from the link i gave you?
Because it's thrown in the basement with no use and it's working well and i can't afford a new repeater or wireless extender in this time.
and yes i know it won't make magic but i wanna use it in a room that my DGN2200 doesn't cover it and it's a small room so the range of DG834Gv5 will cover it well..
thanks again, waiting for your respond :)
