I decided to place another fan on the top of my pc case (Corsair graphite 230T).i connected the fan to the cpu_opt connection on the motherboard now this fan seems to run the same speed all the time and he is hardly getting air out of the case.My question is should i maybe change the Scythe fan to another one i mean more expensive fan or should i connect the fan directly to the PSU for more power?

thanks!

Solution
The fan connected to the CPU_OPT is run just like the CPU fan.
If you want it to run faster/full blast, you will have to change how the fan header controls the fan in BIOS.

so basicly you mean that if i connect the top fan directly to the power supply it will be way more efficient am i right?

That would depend on the profile you are currently using on the CPU fan header, but yes, if you connect it directly to the PSU it would be running af full speed and like faster than it currently is.
