how to make partitions

hello
I have bought a new laptop with Dos os and 500Gb HDD,i want to install windows7 because i've already had win7 set up...i want to ask during installation,where i will find disk partion option and also suggest me how should i make disk partitions for 500Gb...i want atleast 3 drives
i've came across the installtion of windows,but i did not make partitions as it was already partitioned...
This will be my first time to partition the disk,so please help me....

It's not too large HDD to consider making that many partitions, imho. Since it's one physical drive, 2 partitions should be fine. Make one around 80-90GB for OS and other programs and use the rest of the storage to make another partition that you will use for everything else.

(You can make those partitions during the Windows install.)

EDIT: You updated your post before I managed to post, so I didn't realize that you'd like a guide to partition a drive, too.
