you cant unless the app is bought from the windows store i think...
i read this somewhere so im not entirely sure its correct but it wouldn't surprise me.

If you are talking about putting a tile on the start screen, you can pin most things. In the desktop, right click on any shortcut or program, there will be an option called "Pin to Start" This will put a small tile on the Start screen. It won't be a live tile and you can't make it larger, but it'll be there.

If you want to do more things with them, you need a 3rd party app like Pin Anything.
