I orginally set up my pc to have a 250 GB SSD and 500 GB Storage hDD i was hoping after installing games to my HDD it would save space on my SSD for Application .. someone help me with instruction

My.system is like this

250 GbSSD for OS and Aps
3 TB For Movies
3 TB for Shows
500 for games

How do i configre my 500 to store all the games

Solution
As long as u installing the games on HDD (via steam)..

steam will only take small portion of the SSD for the steam apps and configuration..
keep steam at SSD.

I even usually install the new game into SSD first since i will plays it a lot.. (benefit from ssd speed)
and later after finished / not play it much I transfer it to HDD (I usually used backup from ssd & restore to hdd option)

Tried that everytime I ad a Game from steam to my HDD it takes up same amount off my SSD I just checked Steam Download settings.. I think i made this mistake. I installed STEamed itself to the C Drive when all my games are on the J Drive I think i need to uninstall all the games and steam and re configure it better

Strange indeed if it take same amount in ssd..
usually when we install to specific path on hdd it will not taken amount on the ssd..

try checking in the steam folder on the ssd..
if the game already moved to hdd.. the one in ssd can be deleted/delete local content... (when using backup restore method.)
(backup to image, delete the one in ssd, restore image to hdd)

edit: maybe some option/setting missed when install/restore the image..

I think games like HL2, Day of Defeat and Counter Strike all install to the location of the Steam install. Everything else should give you and option to choose which drive you want to install to. If not ask on the Steam forums as well as leaving this thread here to double your chances of getting a fix.
