How to make tv work with old home theater system speakers all the time

my home theater system dos not have digital optical connection, how I can make tv work on home theater system speakers all the time, without using tv speakers.

whats the brand and model of tv and reciever. It will help alot so i can know what options you have

Your TV should have a red/white audio out. Take a RCA patch cable and run it to your recievers input.
