How to make windows 7 64-bit play blue ray discs

I have windows 7, windows media player, and i can not seem to get blu-ray discs to work on my blu-ray CD-ROM. tried downloading codec and still didn't work.

Blu-ray error:
This Blu-ray Disc needs a library for AACS decoding, and your system does not have it.
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///D:/'. Check the log for details.

I'm not completely familiar with AACS, but I believe it's a standard for encrypted content. Going for a quick Google, I found this library, which presumably is what VLC is asking for: http://www.videolan.org/developers/libaacs.html

why is it a link for linux? i downloaded libaacs 0.7.1 and nothing happened

that link is for windows 8, what do you think my chances are to return it? ive given up thanks anyways

Should still work. No computer will play bluray unless you install something like Powerdvd on it. But its not free.

i have dozens of files now I'm unable to delete.. I'm so upset, the guy who sold it to me knew I couldn't even figure out how to burn dvd's so he would of known i had no hope in hell in getting this to work..

Have you got a bluray burner?? You'll need one since a dvd burner wont work

I dont know look in a store. If you cant buy it online

Wont matter either way. Even if you burn them you still need a program if you want to play it in windows

Unless you play them on a standalone player
