I am using Outlook 2010 configured with Exchange email.

If you are using exchange, don't bother. Exchange means your backups are hosted on the server, so no need to merge them.

But this is just for my comfort use I need to merge two archives...because I don't want to search for one file in two archives..

The best solution is that you learn how to set up your exchange account correctly. Once you do, you can search all your mail automatically without even bothering with archives.

If (for some really stupid reason) you NEED those archives, import them both and export a new, unified archive.
